Manual Installation: --- Create a new MySql database (or use an old one) --- Import the database information from mysql.sql in the new database. --- Open application_config_file.php and edit path and database connection settings --- Change file permissions to 777 to the admin directory (you can change it back to 755 after you have password protected your admin directory [ADMIN AREA]->[Script Management]->[Change Admin Password]) --- Change file permissions to 777 to the following directories and any files(directory) under them : - logs (script log file statistics) - logo (employers logo images) - resumes (jobseekers resume files) - other (language images, language flags) - languages (multilanguage support files) --- Change file permissions to 666 to the following files: - application_settings.php (the script settings you can change the information from [ADMIN AREA]->[Script Management]->[Script Settings]) - cc_payment_settings.php (the script Credit Card Processing settings you can change the information from [ADMIN AREA]->[Script Management]->[Payment Settings]) - design_configuration.php (the script design/layout settings you can change the information from [ADMIN AREA]->[Script Management]->[Layout Manager]) --- Point your browser to [http_server_path]/index.php --- Check if everything is OK. --- If you get an 550 Internal Server Error try to delete the .htaccess file from the main directory --- Check admin directory [http_server_path]/admin/index.php --- Read the given information about Admin Area Usage --- Change Script Settings [ADMIN AREA]->[Script Management]->[Script Settings] --- Change Script Layout [ADMIN AREA]->[Script Management]->[Layout Manager] --- Change Planning Fees [ADMIN AREA]->[Script Management]->[Planning Manager] (change currency sign too) --- Change admin password to password protect your admin directory from curious eyes [ADMIN AREA]->[Script Management]->[Change Admin Password] --- Make a database backup [ADMIN AREA]->[Database Management]->[Backup Database] --- Change header and footer look from html directory (header.html, footer.html) --- Change Terms and Conditions in the main directory (terms.html) --- Make a copy of the all configured files --- Delete install.php, mysql.sql, update.sql, you will not need them anymore. --- When you finished the modification of the files on the admin you can change the file permission back to 644 for every file! --- That's all. 2. Note: **** You can also change the design/layout editing job.css and jobn.css (first IE, NS6.x, Opera, second NS4 compatible) **** [ADMIN AREA]->[Script Management]->[Layout Manager] is not working under Netscape 4.x WINNT users: If your system is IIS under WINNT, you can't chmod directories, but you have to allow user read/write/execute for the location where the script will be installed! Rename english.php to new_language.php and "english" directory to "new_language" directory! Copy this files back to the "languages" directory on the server! (chmod 777 all this new files/directories) Copy from the "other" directory the "english" directory to a new folder on your home PC... Rename "english" directory to "new_language" directory! Copy this directory back to the "other" directory on the server! (chmod 777 all the files from this new directory) Open the browser www.yoursite.com/admin/create_lng_db.php, enter the "new_language" and the new language should be created right away!
