The Stanford Achievement Test, Ninth Edition (SAT 9) is a norm-referenced
test that compares student performance to the performance of a national
sample of students (norm group), rather than to the state standards. It
was selected by the state to measure basic skills.
The chart shows the percentage of students who scored at or above the
national average (also called the 50th percentile) each year from 1998
to 2002.
